After the Bharatiya Janata Party's lackluster performance in the West Bengal Panchayat elections, a significant organizational reshuffle has taken place ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Dilip Ghosh, a senior leader of the Bengal BJP, has been stripped of his all India post and is no longer the national vice-president. His name was absent from the new committee announced by BJP National President JP Nadda for Bengal. The party claims the move allows Ghosh to focus on his parliamentary constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Speculations on his possible appointment as a Union Minister continue, but no official confirmation has been made. Ghosh's outspoken criticisms of the Mamata government and internal party issues are believed to have played a role in the reshuffle.
Despite the changes, Ghosh has yet to receive any official letter regarding the organizational reshuffle.
